The launch of Skills Development Scotland marked a significant shift in how careers, skills, and training services were delivered across Scotland. SDS needed a new national digital portal, My Learning Space, to help people develop skills, improve employability, and find work. The challenge was both strategic and technical. The platform had to serve multiple user groups with very different needs, integrate complex tools such as CV builders and career-matching functionality, and be delivered through close collaboration with an already-appointed technology partner. Quality, clarity of roles, and pace were crucial, with multiple public-sector stakeholders relying on a seamless outcome.

Equator was appointed to lead experience design and front-end delivery, working closely with SDS and their technology partner, Atos.
