2019 Digital Marketing Events Guide

As part of our annual series, we’re chatting about the digital marketing events and conferences we think should definitely be on your radar for the coming year.

We cover the latest information on events returning in 2019 and some new additions to the list. You have all the information you will need to start planning ahead including dates, locations and how to register for tickets. We hope to see some of you there!

1. Marketing Week Live

MWLive is a showcase of ‘marketing that matters’; giving attendees the opportunity to receive practical, hands-on advice from some of the most respected leaders in the industry. Running for it’s 11th year, you will have the chance to meet a host of well-known exhibitors on their interactive exhibition floor. There is no cost to attend so this is a great opportunity to receive expert advice on solutions for any problems you may be facing.

The free entry also includes access to their co-located event, the Insight Show – a hub for all things research and analytics. A new addition to their 2019 event, there will also be Networking Drinks at the end of day one which will be divided by sector. This is another great opportunity to continue any conversations you may have had throughout the day in a more relaxed setting.

2. Dotdigital Summit

Not only for email marketers, the Dotdigital Summit looks to equip attendees with skills to empower their strategies, across all areas of marketing. Everything from AI to consumer psychology is covered at this event. Here you will find insider insight from industry professionals as well as some unexpected surprises along the way – their headline speaker this year is Nile Rodgers, need we say anymore…

3. BrightonSEO

BrightonSEO is back for another year and not to be missed. It’s one of the biggest search marketing events in the UK, bringing together some of the best speakers in the world of SEO. With your ticket, you are given access to a host of talks from the experts but you can also upgrade to attend intimate, in-depth training courses in which to hone your skills in Analytics, on-site, local and international SEO.

Members of the Equator Search team attend this event every year as it not only provides insight into the latest trends and developments of SEO, but also inspiring, practical advice that we can take back to clients.

There is a free ticket ballot every year, but unfortunately for April’s event this has run out – keep your eyes peeled for the ballot opening again for their second event later in the year.

4. SMX London

Another event not to be missed for search marketers; sponsored by Search Engine Land, SMX provides three days of SEO, SEM and Online Marketing sessions. They guarantee that you will leave with ‘practical tips and techniques from industry experts that will immediately improve your search marketing efforts’. Workshops on Advanced Google Analytics and Google Ads are also available, a great opportunity to access training from platform experts. This isn’t just for the advanced search marketer either, SMX provide talks and workshops catering specifically for beginners, so you really will find something for everyone here.

5. Turing Fest

Hailed as Europe’s best cross-functional tech conference in only 3 short years of running, Turing Fest is not to be missed if technology in marketing is your thing. Last year’s speakers included a host of experts from high-profile brands providing insights to their success, including the likes of Intercom, Spotify and Monzo to name but a few. Only the teaser trailer is available for 2019’s event at the moment, but if it’s anything like the previous year it’s an event not to be missed!

6. Search Leeds

Search Leeds is the North’s largest digital conference running for one day over the Summer. It is a place to share, network and learn for marketers of all levels and offers 48 practical talks covering a variety of topics from technical SEO to digital trends in 2019.

Not just for search marketers, speakers at Search Leeds will also be sharing their secrets and strategies on social media, ecommerce and more. The line-up has still to be announced for this year’s event but previous attendees include Google, Carlsberg, Lloyds Bank, Sky, Missguided and Trivago, amongst many other notable brands.

7. Technology For Marketing

Claiming to be the ‘UK’s only event dedicated to martech’, Technology for Marketing aims to provide an environment to nurture the next big ideas of the industry. Expect strategic sessions on the latest in cutting-edge technology from industry leaders like Made.com, Virgin and GSK plus an exhibition area of over 100 marketing technology providers. This gives you one-on-one access to advice and tips from the likes of Magento, Amazon and dotmailer.

Your ticket also grants you access to not one, but 3 shows – ad:tech, the UK’s leading advertising technology show and eCommerce Expo are ran alongside TFM, creating a one-of-a-kind event that you won’t want to miss.

8. Festival of Marketing

The Festival of Marketing is back for another year to bring together ambitious marketers to discover, learn and shape the future together. The event boasts a plethora of amazing headliners (Louis Theroux and Jo Malone were on the bill last year) over 12 stages and a buzzing Festival City – it promises an experience like no other. Workshops are also available for more one-on-one coaching as well as a vibrant networking scene full of dinner, drinks and entertainment options.

9. PI Live

The ‘Glastonbury of affiliate marketing’, PI Live is back again this year! This event offers a two day conference and exhibition bringing together publishers, agencies, advertisers and retailers across the country to connect and build relationships. As well as listening to talks from some of the most noted names in the industry, your entry ticket includes access to the Influencer Marketing Show which shares insights and best practice into this channel. The Equator Partnerships team will be in attendance this year, so make sure and say hello if you do see them!

10. Social Media Week London

London’s premier media & marketing event, #SMWLDN is back again for 2019 and is bound to be bigger than ever. Last year, on it’s 9th year of running, saw a swarm of social professionals, full of passion and ideas, descend upon London to discuss innovation and emerging trends in the industry. Their agenda was jam-packed full of inspirational talks and intimate roundtable meetings covering everything from AI, to branding, to influencers. Not much has been divulged about this year’s event yet, but with speakers from Facebook, Reddit, LinkedIn and the BBC last year, we’re sure this year will have just as much to offer.
