Join us for Techaus Festival
By now you’ve surely heard of Techaus. You’ve not? Where have you been!?
Techaus is a new festival we at Equator have launched in collaboration with Digital Media Meetups Scotland. The festival will celebrate innovation and creativity in the Scottish digital sector, and will take place on Friday 11 November right on our doorstep at SWG3 in Finnieston.
Under the theme ideas for a connected world, the event brings together our experts with some of the industry’s best, including Spotify, Skyscanner and IBM, all offering inspirational talks and workshops on creativity, disruption, engagement, skills and vision.
We’ll be showing off our diverse range of expertise covering each of the topics, including our chief creative officer and Equator co-founder James Jefferson and our innovation director Martin Jordan alongside industry big hitters like Rockstar North’s Timea Tabori and IBM’s Sharon Moore.
James said: “Scotland has always had an enviable reputation for innovation and this has translated seamlessly into the digital space.
“The quality of digital talent is extremely high and it is about time that we had an exciting event to show that off, bringing together forward-thinking individuals and businesses in a dynamic setting.
“It’s also vital that we get more young people excited about developing a career in the digital and creative industries.
“Techaus offers the perfect platform for the industry to connect with this talent, helping us to deliver the next generation of innovators that will shape the direction of the sector.”
In addition to the impressive list of speakers already signed up to the event, there will be a number of interactive elements including a video games studio, live music and street art.
Mark Muir, co-founder of Digital Media Meetups hopes our event will eventually rival Tech Open Air in Berlin.
He said: “We’ve been running regular Digital Meetups over the last year, bringing together the digital community to learn and share ideas.
“This inspired us to create something on a bigger scale, getting industry leaders on board to help us engage better with young people and the wider digital community.
“Working with Equator, one of the country’s most innovative digital agencies, is a big step forward in helping us meet this objective and developing the festival into a showcase of the best digital innovation across Scotland and Europe.”
