Equator - Digital Agency of the Year
We are pleased to announce that we were recently named Agency of the Year at the 2016 Herald Scottish Digital Business Awards this October.
Now in their eighth year, the awards recognise the success of businesses which are seizing the opportunities offered by digital technology.
The recognition comes during a significant 12-month period for Equator, where we moved from an agency to a group.
This began with the acquisition of 999 Design, one of the UK’s longest standing and most respected independent branding agencies.
We also launched Equator PR, a spin-off boutique agency set-up to capitalise on the increasing appetite for integrated public relations and social media.
Equator’s evolution from a digital to an ideas agency has delivered 30 per cent growth in turnover, with major client wins at home and abroad.
To support growth, our headcount has increased to 170 people and we have launched a new office in London’s Shoreditch to complement our head office in Glasgow’s Finnieston.
We are also committed to supporting skills and training and engaging with the further education sector to help deliver the next generation of talent for the creative sector.
This has been demonstrated through our partnership with Strathclyde University to develop a new digital marketing masters, allowing students to graduate with industry relevant skills.
Chief Creative Officer and Equator co-owner James Jefferson has also been instrumental in setting up the UK’s first National College for Creative and Cultural Industries as part of his role on the board of Creative and Cultural Skills.
Equator’s commitment to not only internal growth, but the Scottish digital sector has seen us launch Techaus festival, a collaboration with Digital Meetups.
With the theme; Ideas for a connected world, the event will join local businesses with industry leaders and give digital agencies an exciting, creative space to share ideas.
The event in November will feature workshops and inspirational talks from high profile companies including Spotify, Skyscanner and IBM, along with our own industry experts.
We look forward to seeing you there as we showcase how we are pushing the boundaries in digital innovation.
