Instagram Ad Dreams Come True

Mixed feelings from Instagram users prevail in regards to their new ads. Though it’s still only large brands using the broadly targeted ad service (age and gender only) the ads seem to be doing the job, garnering tens of thousands of new Followers and Likes. While this paints a good news story, it’s not all roses.

Instagram users seem to have a very strong opinion of the ads either way and there has been some backlash. The debate over paid ads in social media carries on – having to pay for user generated content doesn’t sit well with some and others have accepted that the platform they enjoy needs to be paid for somehow. Perhaps users should consider that is how they will get more tools like the new Direct Messaging.
