First impressions of Cross Creative Special Edition
What feels like a cross between the first day of school, a therapy session and the beginning of a great adventure?
The closest I’ve come to this feeling was last Thursday, at the opening session of Cross Creative Special Edition. It’s an eight-month long course for women in digital. Amongst the group digital agencies, TV, photography, publishing, games and animation were all represented and we discussed our hopes for the course, including what we’d like to learn, as well as which companies we’d like to visit in San Francisco when we go in May.
We spent the day talking about ourselves – the challenges we face professionally and the opportunities that exist. Our industry, ‘digital’, is so open, anything is possible, and we were already excited by the beginnings of potential partnerships and collaborations that emerged from our discussions.
Over the next few months we’ll learn about lots of different things that affect us in our daily working lives – from creative brainstorming techniques, to monetisation, to management. We’ll meet experts from a wide range of different businesses from within the digital sphere and beyond.
It’s going to be a life-changing experience – I’ll keep you posted on the different ways it’s changing my life.
