Facebook enhances insights tool
Monitoring social channels can provide your business with critical insights surrounding what people are saying about your brand, how often they are engaging with your content and can measure how effective your online campaigns are.
Being equipped with the right tools to monitor your social media activity can be beneficial in the longer term and Facebook’s latest updates will allow you to take a closer look at what’s working on your page.
The new version of Page Insights is designed specifically to help your business or brand create better content and give further insights into users who are visiting your page.
The new admin panel for Page Insights is broken into 6 clear cut tabs that help you to define more specific areas of your social efforts: overview, likes, reach, visits, posts and people.
This section of the insights is perfect for checking in with on a daily basis and won’t require much effort to get a quick rundown on how well your page is doing.
The likes tab details the total amount of likes your page has received as well as new likes and the location of where these likes are coming from.
This is a great opportunity to realise who your brand or business is attracting and where – this could help enhance future content for a specific geo-targeted audience.
This particular section of the Page Insights features interactive graphics that highlight your overall post performance and can be broken down into organic or paid reach to help get a better idea whether promotional content is pushing your page out further or not.
The great thing about the visits tab is that it allows page managers to take a closer look at where their visitors are coming from i.e. particular search engines like Google or Bing. It will also highlight if visitors are coming from referrals of other users such as check-ins that link to the page.
Get a better understanding of how engaging your content really is with this in-depth look at each individual post within a particular time frame (the calendar functionality allows you to specifically select a time frame to measure).
By clicking onto each individual post, Facebook offers further insights into any negative response to your posts i.e. users hiding all posts from your page, page unlikes due to a post. On a positive note, it also highlights how many clicks on links etc. have been generated from the post.
The last tab gives page managers demographic information on their audience including gender, age, location and language – all key elements of insuring your page is targeting your desired market effectively or simply highlighting a key demographic that is engaging with your audience that might not have been considered previously.
Overall Facebook Page Insights provide users with a more detailed and interesting look at their audience and provide the tools to improve your current content.
