Yet another New Ad Extension
Google has unveiled yet another new addition to the Ad Extension family!
The…err…'Don't Take Our Word for It' tool, more likely to be commonly known as Review Extension, allows customer reviews to be displayed underneath your ad.
The thinking behind this is that the richer the information that can be displayed to potential customers about your business, the more likely they are to click on your ad. Reviews are proven to help boost sales directly on websites, why shouldn't it work at this level?
When setting this up, you can either choose to submit a quote, or a summary of key points from a review on a Google trusted third party site. Google says it will be the advertiser's responsibility to ensure they have permission to use a review in an ad, which may complicate matters initially.
The beta version of this extension is currently being rolled out in English, with the full roll out to the AdWords interface due to follow in the not too distant future.
