Voucher Code of Conduct – Affiliate Window updates

Following on from June's post on the updated IAB Voucher Code of Conduct, we've already seen our go-to network Affiliate Window proactively updating their interface in order to fully comply with the updated code. AW announced the new update in their recent blog post, highlighting enhanced protection for merchants who offer voucher codes via the affiliate channel.

The change will allow merchants to offer exclusive codes specifically to chosen publishers within the interface without fear of the code going viral, or falling into the wrong hands. When the exclusive code is created, only the chosen publisher will have access and visibility of said code.

The new tool in place will mean that if affiliates use a code that does not belong to them, this will be automatically flagged in the interface. This feature will offer the following benefits to a merchant's campaign:

  • Transparency - this tool offers a greater level of transparency with regards to voucher code use and makes it very difficult for codes to be promoted without permission
  • Reduced admin time - affiliates who use codes that they should not be will be automatically flagged in the system
  • Quicker resolution - As incorrect use of voucher codes is flagged automatically, this allows for a quick response time from the merchant to resolve any situations with affiliates
