Facebook is closing the online vs. offline gap by offering a solution that will cost $2.5 million a day. Rumour has it that Facebook is planning to sell "TV-style" ads with a very costly price tag. However, this opportunity will allow companies to finally geo target the millions of users, who actively check the site on a daily basis, with traditional TV ads.

Sources told Bloomberg, "the commercials will initially be sold on a full-day basis and can only be targeted to users based on age and gender".

"Addressable TV" will likely attract large brands with big budgets, in which they will be able to further identify and communicate with their target audience. Much remains to be seen, however this move could see Facebook reposition its brand within the minds of traditional media buyers.

As Facebook continues to monetise its ever growing platform, we look forward to hearing more about its next big step.
