Performance sites to become brands in their own right
A recent article in Marketing Week found that the IAB Affiliate Marketing Council are set to launch a campaign to promote online performance sites such as Quidco, TopCashBack and Vouchercodes.co.uk as retail brands in their own right.
The planned whitepaper will demonstrate that such sites are now 'destination sites' for many consumers. This new trend, whereby consumers seek out better value on purchases, has emerged from the ongoing tough economic climate.
Furthermore, early research has found that consumers who visit these affiliate sites are more likely to provide a longer term ROI as their purchase is more considered;
"Consumers that make the decision to use cashback, price comparison or loyalty sites are less likely to churn as they've already clearly thought about their purchase"- Clare O'Brien, IAB industry programmes consultant.
This new trend highlights the fact that cashback and voucher code sites are now seen as a way of life for many consumers and do not devalue brand names, a common concern among many merchants.
