It’s all for a good cause but can Equator handle Tough Mudder?
It's an intense, stomach churning 12 mile obstacle course that isn't for the faint hearted. Testing your strength, stamina, determination and camaraderie… just what have the Equator team let themselves in for? Pain is a word that springs to mind here.
Why on earth would we put ourselves through it you ask?
Well firstly we would like to stress that this challenge is through choice - we don't normally enforce military-styled exercise regimes as part of our staff development! Our (mad) team are of course taking it on to raise money for NSPCC and Cystic Fibrosis, charities which are close to our hearts.
It's all about team effort at Equator…
And they say a main component of the Tough Mudder challenge is camaraderie which is why we were pleased that so many members of Equator were signing up for it. However, as the daunting task of actually taking part started getting closer, it gradually turned into less of a team effort… isn't that right boys!
Yes it's all about girl power this week - the boys were wimping out one by one and it seems even the remaining four boys are choosing to complete it in the female form, dressed as old women nonetheless!
So have the team come prepared?
Well for starters, could someone please get Helen along to at least one training session before Saturday?
Aside from Helen, the training has been tough with burpees, mountain climbs… the lot! There have been tears and tantrums along the way (over it yet Cherisse?) and plenty of healthy treats to keep energy levels high (thank you Kirsty) but ready or not, the big day is drawing close and there's no backing out now. Let's battle our way through the mud baths, Arctic enemas and fire pits and show the world what we've got!
Tough Mudder 3 Just remember guys, as a Tough Mudder you pledge that...
- You understand that Tough Mudder is not a race but a challenge
- You put team work and camaraderie before your course time
- You do not whine - kids whine
- You help your fellow Mudders complete the course
- You overcome all fears
- ... and you buy Hana a burrito after
We would greatly appreciate your support and welcome all donations for our chosen charities. Please visit: http://bit.ly/14bIO9p to make your donations
GOOD LUCK TO OUR TOUGH MUDDER TEAM ON SATURDAY!
