It is of no surprise that Smartphones account for 13.6% of the total traffic, with tablets driving a similar percentage of visits despite their lower penetration rate. Although the data also concludes that Smartphones only convert at 2% in comparison to the tablet converting at 5% which highlights consumers still prefer to use a desktop or tablet to make purchases online.

This low conversion rate on the Smartphone however does not mean that the advertisers should ignore the mobile shoppers. Price comparison and research are an important part of a user's journey, particularly now on the shop floor to ensure they are getting the best deal before buying.

Affiliate Window offer industry leading tracking called Mobile Fix to ensure mobile sales are tracked even where an advertiser has not implemented their tracking. In May 2013, 91% of their mobile sales tracked and in later 2013 they will be implementing a full mobile reporting suite.
