Google Hotel Finder Integrated Into UK SERPs
Google recently integrated its Hotel Finder product into UK search engine result pages for generic destination + hotel searches, as can be seen in the example below:
This would appear to mark the global roll out of the product and as we can see from the above, the Hotel Finder search box has been given a prominent position on the page, effectively replacing position 3 of the PPC results above the SERPs in some instances.
So what does this mean for PPC campaigns? Well, its impact is as yet unclear, however, in essence its introduction may present a significant challenge for any non-brand PPC campaigns in the hotel industry with the increased competition it brings.
This is most definitely an area we will be keeping a keen eye on in the coming weeks and months.
