Affiliate Window updates reporting

Whilst it’s great to report a peak in affiliate programme performance in a particular month, or a particular product that’s selling exceptionally well, the best affiliate managers are those strive to understand exactly why these things have happened.

Whilst it's great to report a peak in affiliate programme performance in a particular month, or a particular product that's selling exceptionally well, the best affiliate managers are those strive to understand exactly whythese things have happened.

That's why it's important to immerse ourselves in the reports available from the networks we work with - and last month we were delighted to discover that Affiliate Window now provides two new reports that make analysing the data simpler and even more rewarding. And after a few weeks of use, here's our thoughts on the new reports.

Affiliate performance report

Let's say, for example, affiliate performance on one of our programmes is generally low over summer months, but in summer 2012 we see a spike in clicks, sales and revenue. In order to begin to understand why this has happened, we can now generate a report that compares each individual affiliate's performance in summer 2011 compared with summer 2012. We can then sort it by % increase and see which affiliates have significantly improved their performance this year. This data was always available, but to create such a report in the past would have been both time consuming and fiddly.

Transaction by device reporting

This report is perhaps even more exciting as it provides data that Affiliate Window has never before been able to report. It's in the early stages so the data doesn't exist for every transaction recorded, but in time we will have visibility of the device on which every affiliate sale took place. We'll therefore soon be able to report on the proportion of sales that took place on a mobile, and watch this increase as more and more affiliates develop mobile optimised sites.
