Now it only arrived late on 30th but the March update wouldn't be complete without even a small mention of Google's latest initiative - the +1 Button.
Part of Google's gradual wading into the social networking market; Google is labelling the +1 as 'word of mouth marketing in Google search' where users can recommend various sites' content and ads to their friends and contacts. Eager to provide increasingly 'relevant' search results for its users, Google is heavily promoting the initiative as a something that will drive higher quality traffic from pre-qualified users and are offering no mention of its function in helping Google stake a major share of the social web in the future.
The questions are already piling up (how do we track it? Will it impact my Quality Score? Will users who clicked on the ads return to recommend them?) and for now we'll be reading as much about is as we can.
