De Vere Hotels
We were asked to redesign and develop the website for De Vere Hotels & Resorts. The redesign was required to help increase traffic through the website, revolutionise internal efficiencies and ultimately increase bookings at the hotels.
It would also promote the new corporate branding of one of this respected group of 4 and 5 star hotels & resorts.
We had to meet certain requirements regarding the accessibility of the website but at the same time needed to deliver a rich user experience. For us, this meant a hybrid development using Flash to enhance elements within the website and HTML to provide the essential information in an easily accessible manner.
How we achieved our goal
One of the most important goals when redesigning the site was to simplify the process of choosing and booking a hotel. The key to this is the interactive flash map of hotels which allows users to browse the full portfolio seamlessly from one page. The result is to eradicate time consuming 'pogo-ing' in and out of hotel pages in order to make a decision and therefore vastly reduce the time and effort involved in choosing the right hotel.
The site is designed to be flexible and future-proof to ensure that it grows with De Vere's business and their customers. The flexible structure also allows each of the De Vere hotels to make their areas unique within the overall brand template.
Another important part of the site was to showcase De Vere's golf offering. To achieve this we created an interactive strokesaver application which gives an engaging experience of each of the De Vere courses including practical information on how the course plays as well as a 5 day weather forecast should you want to play the course.
