The National Trust
The National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty, more often known as the National Trust, is a conservation organisation with over 42 million members. With a mission to protect historic buildings, monuments, remains and green spaces, the National Trust charity is responsible for 500 historic houses, castles, ancient monuments gardens and parks and nature reserves. Across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the National Trust is also responsible for over 248,000 hectares of land and 775 miles of coastline. The charity has roughly 6,000 members of staff and 62,000 volunteers.
