The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) is a charity, operating in England and Wales, with the remit of promoting animal welfare. One of the oldest and largest animal welfare organisation in the world, the charity looks to prevent cruelty, promote kindness to and alleviate suffering of animals. RSPCA inspectors respond to calls from the public to investigate alleged mistreatment of animal, with the team offering assistance and advice on how to improve animal welfare. In some cases, animals will be rehabilitated and rehomed by RSPCA, with the charity bringing private prosecution charges against those it believes has caused neglect to an animal.
