The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) is a UK charity which was originally founded in 1889. Since its launch, with the aim to prevent bird’s feathers being used as plumage in hats, the charity has grown to 1300 employees, 18,000 volunteers and more than 1 million members – making it one of the largest wildlife conservation charity in Europe. The RSPB has nature recovery groups which prioritise species, habitats and sites, with the overall aim to address problems facing birds, other wildlife and the environment.
