Clydesdale Bank, founded in 1838, is part of the Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banking Group (CYBG). With over 120 retail branches and a network of business and private banking centres, Clydesdale is one of Scotland's largest banks. In March 2015, the Clydesdale Bank became the first bank in Great Britain to issue polymer banknotes. The £5 commemorative notes, issued to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the construction of the Forth Bridge, are printed by De La Rue. May 2016 saw the launch of a new product by CYBG – a banking app called B. The app originally consists of the B Current Account and a B Instant Savings Accounts, but will grow and adapt to meet changing customer demands, with new products, services and functionality.
