Social Media Week - what it was all about
Social Media Week took place in twelve cities around the world this year, and in
case you hadn’t heard about it before, it’s an annual event aimed at advancing our
understanding of how social media influences us. It was an incredibly important
event for people, businesses and society as a whole, so in addition to social
media being one of the services we offer at Equator, we were also very proud to
take a prominent position as city headline sponsor for Social Media Week 2011 in
Glasgow.
As lead sponsor it was very important to us to lead the discussion on social media
- it’s an exciting subject and one that’s changing every day - what was standard
practice just a year ago could be considered ancient history today. The world is
evolving and social media is evolving with it.
More about Social Media Week
A week well spent
Thousands of people around the world joined us online and in Glasgow this September
to find out what social media means. There was a lot to learn from the week’s full
schedule of talks, and we enjoyed many interesting debates on where social media has
been and where it’s going.
Our experts here led discussions on some excellent subjects, including social media
psychology, how social media can affect your brand and how you can use it to
communicate and engage with your customers more effectively.
I think we can happily say that Social Media Week was a success here in Glasgow, but
if you missed any of it, or just want to see it all over again check out our schedule,
or read more about our experiences here.
