DIY Marketing

Wickes are one of those wonderful brands that despite their size some people who aren’t in the know don’t instantly recognise. 

If you happen to fall into that category then we are proud to inform you that Wickes are a major DIY brand with over 190 stores UK wide and a great client.

Wickes launched their website, set some challenging targets and we were retained to manage paid search, email marketing, SEO and affiliate campaigns for them.

Affiliate Marketing

Our affiliate campaign for Wickes launched in May 2007 and quickly turned out to be one of our biggest success stories.

The campaign was launched with a product feed, superb creative and an incentive plan that not only cut through the noise of similar campaigns – it made the affiliate community sit up and take notice.

We also handpicked the correct mix of top retail SEO, PPC, cash back and social media affiliates. We know these guys personally as well as what they specialise in, their promotion activities and more importantly how their activities dovetail into our client’s online marketing mix.

  • Recruited over 1,000 quality affiliates in the first year.
  • 230% over our revenue target in the first year
  • 14:1 return on investment.
  • Wickes were nominated for Best New Merchant at the A4U Affiliate awards

Email Marketing

To support the on-site merchandising and promotions we developed a flexible email template that allowed us to send a weekly email with 8 of the most up to date offers. 

The flexibility allowed us to turn the campaign around very quickly and react to their business needs.

The email campaign was a huge success with an overall ROI of 22:1.

Paid and Natural Search

As part of our integrated strategy for Wickes, we also ran a highly successful paid search campaign.

The campaign strategy was based around product level CPA’s. It far exceeded the client’s targets with an ROI of 13:1.

We always look to empower our client’s with all of the knowledge in our agency. To help Wickes, we provided SEO consultancy that taught their copywriters the ins and outs of writing optimised copy and the art of good on-site optimisation.  We took care of everything that was off-site.
